Daffodils in March

L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgues Antiques Fair

Chagall in Les Baux

THE DAFFODILS are starting to show their pretty yellow flower. The air has turned cold but the sky is blue and the air is crisp. If one ventures up the Ventoux at this time of year, they will be transported directly into the heart of the Alpes. Skiing on the Ventoux is in full swing and the summer cafes have turned once again into ski chalets serving vin chaud and crepes a chocolat. To be out on the terrace, adorning sunglasses, wearing ski Factor 50 and staring up towards a bright sun is a feeling that can only be matched on a skiing holiday. Welcome to Provence in March!

ISLE SUR LA SORGUE: Feed your antiquing and brocante fever at this twice-annual antique fair or foire, one of the biggest ones in Europe. It’s officially called the “Foire Internationale Arts et Antiquités.” There’s one in Spring (usually Easter weekend) and one in August. You’ll find hundreds of vendors selling all over town. This years dates are March 25 to 28, 2016 and Aug 12 to 15, 2016.
