Welcome to our May newsletter. May means one thing, staring at you in the face, striking out with vibrancy and a color that nothing else can match – poppies! Field after field of beautiful wild red poppies that force you to pay attention. Force you to recognize their beauty. The wild mistral wind has served a magnificent purpose of bringing us wild poppies, without doubt, every year, marking the beginning of Summer and a reminder that the heat is just around the corner.
And it’s not just the red poppies pulling in the crowd. There are the red strawberries and red cherries to marvel at, to taste, to pick directly off the trees. There is a festival in Velleron to celebrate the strawberry season, where you can potter around in the scent of fresh strawberries, compare and taste all the varieties as well as jams, syrups, juices, pies, candy, pastries, folklore, music and antics fair. And of course, to add some glamour to this incredible part of the world, May also hosts the Cannes Film Festival, where Cannes itself is only a 2 hour drive from The Apple Orchard. Book with us in May and travel down to the coast for a couple of days. Get yourself a ticket to the luncheon party hosted by the American Club of the Riviera and you too could be socializing and playing the part of a film star! This is the 69th Cannes Film Festival.
