The Willow Tree
The Willow Tree is a beautiful self contained apartment that lies in the grounds of a large Provençal villa known as The Apple Orchard. It is connected to the main house but is private and completely separate.
The cosy main living area incorporates a dining room with log burner, open plan kitchen and lounge with large windows looking out on to the main garden. This open plan layout allows light and a sense of space to fill the room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons, and the lounge has a flat screen TV with English Sky TV.
There are two double bedrooms on opposite sides of the apartment, both with en suite bathrooms with walk in power showers, wash basin’s and w.c.’s. Bedroom 1 has a large king size bed and bedroom 2 has two separate single beds. The bedrooms are furnished with ceiling fans and mosquito netting and remain relatively cool during the day owing to their position within the property and cooler still if shutters are kept closed during the day.
The approach from the road is through separate gates into an enclosed area that houses a large willow tree. This area provides free off road secure parking for several vehicles, and safe storage for bicycles.
Another door leads to an intimate courtyard garden and the entrance to the apartment. This area is for the exclusive use of our Clients. The courtyard garden is full of flowers, a green lawn and is beautifully lit at night creating a magical atmosphere for sitting out and eating on the outside terrace. There is a table with chairs, BBQ and a pergola strewn with flowering plants providing a canopy of shade and exquisite scents.
The pool area is open between June and September and is accessed though another side entrance from the courtyard garden. The pool is large, measuring 6.5m x 10m with a shallow end with steps. There is another BBQ and fridge available, sun loungers with cushions and shade under the trees around the pool. The pool is shared with the owners but separate times can be agreed on booking if required.
The house lies in the countryside close to the local village of Le Thor. The terrain is crossed by the meandering River Sorgues that runs throughout its fields and orchards. It lies on a quiet road and is within easy cycling and walking distance of Le Thor.
The owners, Audrey and Peter, live on site with their two children, Troy (17) and Ryan (14) and their wonderful Labrador Jody (5). We are keen cyclists and can advise on all matters for renting bicycles, bike fit and exciting routes to choose in the region. Please ask for more details.
Our response to Covid-19
With regards to the Owners living on site and the social distancing restrictions in place to combat Covid-19, we have decided to make some changes to the way the main house shares the pool, large terrace and garden.
The courtyard garden has developed into a beautiful place, so Clients now renting the apartment will have exclusive use of this garden, as opposed to sharing any part of the main terrace and garden. For this reason, the lounge doors of the apartment looking out on to the main terrace will remain locked. Curtains will be left in place and can be drawn at the Client’s discretion. The entrance to the pool area will also be separate and approached from the courtyard garden.
On booking the apartment, times for separate use of the pool and pool area can be discussed and agreed in advance of arrival.
